Built in 1917 as part of the Mexican
Border project, Camp Naco is the only Western camp made of adobe.
Troops encamped there include the Buffalo Soldiers and the 1st
Arizona Infantry Regiment of the Arizona National Guard. The
Camp Naco Historic District is listed on the National Register of
